We're proud to announce that SOILWORK's track Exile (from the album Sworn To A Great Divide) is featured in SEGA's IRON MAN 2: THE VIDEO GAME which is due out on May 4th, 2010.

Many thanks to Dean Martinetti and Nuclear Blast USA for making this happen!

Here's the official press release:

SEGA of America is excited to announce the full in-game soundtrack for the upcoming Iron Man 2 video game and release the second behind-the-scenes video.

Iron Man 2: The Video Game comes complete with a high-energy soundtrack which takes the excitement to a whole new level of cinematic intensity, comprised of music by stellar acts such as MESHUGGAH, SOILWORK, STEMM and NOVA. The release date is set for May 4th, 2010.

With fourteen years and seven albums behind them, SOILWORK's increasing success has evolved from their initial status of a diminutive, yet promising Swedish extreme melodic metal band to their present position as one of the most popular and audacious entities to have explored new musical territories. Meticulously developing swift progressions, SOILWORK establishes sounds without limits, outranking any competition and setting an untouchable musical standard. Livng up to the best selling Natural Born Chaos and the highly successful Figure Number Five, SOILWORK's latest release, Sworn To A Great Divide, instantly cracked the Billboard Heatseekers chart and the band was presented as One of The 25 Most Important Bands in Metal by Alternative Press magazine. Their eighth album The Panic Broadcast will be released this July.

What up people?

After a long but intense absence, I'm back to give you a little report about what's going on in the SOILWORK camp... We've just wrapped up our last demo and I've got a constant smile on my face!

The title of the new album will be THE PANIC BROADCAST.

I'm so stoked about this record, and I feel it's gonna be quite a challenge for everyone in the band. So how does it sound? Here's my personal take: to use an old cliche, it's bigger than life! Seriously, if any of you missed some of the intricate riffing that makes SOILWORK so unique, you won't be disappointed. I find these songs very playful and because we're not cutting down on anything- no "too much information", no "less is more"- they're just pure musical joy with no boundaries. And THAT to me is what this band is all about! Of course there'll be some surprises as always, and giving every one of us the freedom to go apeshit will without a doubt yield a heavy-as-fuck and naturally catchy album. More solos? Check. Insane riffing? Check. Melodic vocals? Screamy vocals? Progressive keyboards? Best metal drummer in the world? Will Flink dance while recording his bass tracks as if it were nothing? Check!!!

Drums will be recorded in Asheville, NC starting this Saturday. Keep your eyes peeled for an online studio report featuring live video updates... Join us and watch every step of the new album taking form!

It's official: SOILWORK will enter the studio in January 2010! The long-awaited follow-up to 2007's Sworn To A Great Divide will be produced by guitarist Peter Wichers and mixed by Jens Bogren (OPETH, KATATONIA, PARADISE LOST, BLOODBATH). Drums will be tracked at Echo Mountain in Asheville, NC. The rest of the recording is set to take place in Tampa, FL and the mix at Fascination Street in Orebro, Sweden.

SOILWORK's as-yet-untitled eighth album will be the first to feature Peter Wichers since his return to the band in 2008, as well as the studio debut with guitarist Sylvain Coudret (SCARVE) who also joined last year.

On another note, Listenable Records recently re-released the classic SOILWORK albums Steelbath Suicide and The Chainheart Machine. Fully remastered by the band's long-time sound engineer Mattias Nilsson, with updated artwork and liner notes by BWBK's Carl Begai, these re-releases come in Super Jewelcases and each feature two rare or previously unreleased 1999 live bonus tracks. Are you guys 'n girls ready for some more Swedish metal???

As you may or may not know, in 2009, SOILWORK will be putting together our as-yet-nameless eighth studio album. But since we just can't resist wrecking stages, we've decided to bring you, our Fans, two exclusive festival performances this year!
Make sure to come party with us at Finland's SAUNA OPEN AIR and Sweden's own SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL!

Regarding these shows, our guitarist and dear friend Peter Wichers has some very special news:

Dear Soilwork Fans!

Me and my wife are expecting a little baby boy any day now, and I have therefore decided to stay home this Summer to spend some well-deserved time with my family.
This unfortunately means that I will not be performing with SOILWORK at the upcoming festival shows in Europe.

A good friend of SOILWORK, Mr David Andersson, will step in and fill my spot for these shows, but have no fear! I'll be back with the boys again later this year when we get ready to hit the studio!

So please do me a favor, have a few beers for me and raise the horns to the sky for my brothers in SOILWORK as they tear it up in Sweden and Finland!

We wish Peter and his wife all the best and look forward to seeing you all in June!

PS: Don't forget to check out our Official Webstore- we've got some sweet new designs on sale, including the never-before-printed Steelbath Suicide and The Chainheart Machine t-shirts!

Howdy Soilworkers! Buckle up for a road report straight from the Great White North. And man, it sure is white: two days ago in Calgary, outside temperatures clocked in at a whopping minus 40 degrees... Even for us Swedes, that's slightly chilly.

But never mind the arctic frost, this marathon tour has been nothing short of amazing! We're running on full throttle every night, blasting our way through 17 songs including "Like The Average Stalker", "Black Star Deceiver" and "The Pittsburgh Syndrome". Our three support bands DARKANE, WARBRINGER and SWALLOW THE SUN rock like there's no tomorrow, and both the American and Canadian crowds have been absolutely relentless! Here's a shout-out to all the fans who made each and every show a memorable experience- THANK YOU!!!

Tonight we're making our first-ever stop in Prince George, followed by two more British Columbia shows- Vancouver and Victoria- to end this second Canadian leg. And then it's back to the USA...

See you on stage!
