NEW MODEL ARMY’S JUSTIN SULLIVAN TO GUEST ON NEW SOILWORK ALBUM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 15th, 2012

Justin Sullivan, lead singer of the English band New Model Army, will be guest vocalist on the track "The Windswept Mercy" which will appear on the new SOILWORK double album, The Living Infinite. Formed in 1980 in Bradford, England, New Model Army was and still has a very loyal following and SOILWORK frontman Björn "Speed" Strid counts himself among it.

Sullivan shares the serendipitous back-story on how he met up with Sweden’s melodic metal maestros SOILWORK: "Some years ago, I met Björn somewhere in the deserts of the southwestern U.S. I expect we both had good reasons for being there - though things like reason get swallowed up in the strangeness of deserts. Anyway, I'm sure we were talking about deserts and the idea of desert music as Europeans always have an unending fascination with these wondrous alien places. ‘Would you sing on a SOILWORK record?’ he asked. ‘Yes, of course’ I replied, and so, many years later, I suddenly get an e-mail from SOILWORK in a studio in Stockholm at exactly the same moment NMA were in a studio in London. And by a miracle of technology was able to do a quick vocal on this great and strangely beautiful song. Perhaps you beat me to the desert music thing after all, Björn. Love the track. All The Best.”

SOILWORK’s Björn "Speed" Strid adds: "It's a true honor to have one of my absolute favorite lyricists and singers, Justin Sullivan from New Model Army, contributing with guest vocals for our new album. I have been a long-time fan and I recall growing up in the small Swedish city of Landskrona, where so many people listened to the first wave of death metal AND New Model Army, including myself. I met Justin at a NMA show in Phoenix, Arizona three years ago and we talked quite a bit.  He listened very patiently to my story. He also ran out to his tour bus to get his new solo album and gave it to me. I will never forget that. The man is a true legend, a gentleman, and he has a very unique presence in his voice, on stage and in his lyrics. The fact that he wanted to lend his amazing voice to ‘The Windswept Mercy’ brought me to tears. He will forever be my hero!"

SOILWORK ANNOUNCE DOUBLE ALBUM!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 30th, 2012

Swedish melodic metal maestros SOILWORK are currently in the studio with producer Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, BLOODBATH) recording the follow-up to their 2010 release The Panic Broadcast. The Soilworkers have been toiling away and burning many a midnight oil to bring us not just one CD of amazing music, but two! That’s right, SOILWORK’s upcoming album The Living Infinite will be a double album!

Commented vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid: "So here's the scoop. Me and the boys have been waiting to share this for quite some time now: The Living Infinite will be a double album! A REAL double album, in the true sense of the word, which means no fillers and no left-overs.

I've been wanting to do this for a while and I proposed the idea to the rest of the guys in the band, during our festival tour last summer. Everybody liked the title The Living Infinite and also the idea of working towards the goal of releasing a double album. David Andersson was already playing with us last summer, so he has also been a part of this goal from the start. I feel very excited and proud that we've managed to find the inspiration and dedication it takes to create somewhat of a conceptual double album, especially since it's dealing with a lot of existential questions.

We would also like to reveal a brand new band shot by Hannah Verbeuren Photography. We are currently hard at work in the studio, putting this beast on tape. Things are sounding incredibly good so far. So excited about this and can't wait to share the awesomeness with you all!”
